When I first went to the gym, I had no clue what I was doing. I'd just hang around some equipment and nervously poke about, unsure if I was going to break a machine or myself.

It takes a lot of balls to re-enter a gym when you spent your last visit looking lost. An extra well done if that's you.

and Instagram is just fucking weird.

In my half decade (#old) of doing this, I've realised there are some key things we should all learn before trying to grow a booty or pile on the strength gains and it's these:

These three things are foundation for most of the exercises you'll ever do. You ever see body builders do that weird pec dance? 

That kind of control is one of the reasons them muscles get so big.

When they're working through their program they can recruit those muscles on purpose to load 'em and grow 'em.

But I went to the gym twice a week and pole classes the other 2. I was pretty happy to be working out 4x a week and enjoying it, it just so happened all of my exercise happened under instruction.
